What I’m thinking since living in Singapore ~The good things at home~

I wrote about “The things that are disappointing at home” a few days ago, but of course, there are many good things.

・Very overseas

My condo is near the sea, and the nearby buildings are fancy. So the photos of landscapes look perfect on Instagram. Also, taking a walk around the area gives you a great experience overseas. Actually, it’s too hot to go out during the day, though.

・Taking out the trash is OK anytime. I have a shared dust chute on the corridor.

Most of the furniture and home appliances were already installed in the condo (depends on the rental contract and apartment).

I didn’t bring any furniture and home appliances from Japan, so it was appreciated for me.

・The condo has a shared outdoor pool.

・There is a shelter in the house.

Surprisingly, each house in Singapore has a bomb shelter. Other people use it as storage. However, I’m using it as a studio for musical instruments because it’s soundproof.

・Don Don DONKI is near my house. A big mall is also within walking distance of my home.

Don Don DONKI is the most famous Japanese-style supermarket. It’s very convenient.

By the way, the things that I was surprised about since coming to Singapore are as follows.

・I can open the door in three types keys; key card, fingerprint, and physical key.

・There is no entrance to take off shoes.

In the first place, I didn’t know whether Singaporeans usually take off their shoes in the room or not since coming here. Some people put their shoes outside, and some people set a shoebox in the room.

・The rent is too expensive.

If the company that my husband works for doesn’t cover all the expenses, I’ve never lived in this condo. The rent is four times the rent of the previous apartment near a station in Japan.

I can’t imagine how much local residents earn money.

If I didn’t live in Singapore, I’ve never had such an experience of life. Especially now, it’s difficult to go out because of COVID-19. So I’m fortunate to spend comfortably at home.
