I’ve taken clarinet lessons for four years. Thanks to the kindness of my teacher, I can keep taking the lesson online.
Due to the COVID-19, I can’t join concerts now. However, the clarinet lesson makes me motivated to practice it.
I’m practicing scales (Rolf Eichler - Scales for Clarinet), etudes (C. Rose - 32 STUDIES for CLARINET), and pieces (now, Schuman - 3 Romances) for the lesson.
I always use ZOOM, which the connection is sometimes bad. But mostly, it’s going well.
There are some worse sides than face to face. For example, the tones sound bad, and I can’t play the clarinet with my teacher at the same time because the sounds are delayed.
However, more things I’m able to do online after the pandemic of COVID-19 make me glad.
Fortunately, I have much more times to practice than at the time I worked. So I’ll take this opportunity to improve my essential skill for clarinet, and I hope to play it with good sounds.
The regulation for full-vaccinated people is relaxed in Singapore. So I expect that local orchestras or symphonic bands will start again soon.
