先日、大事な楽器ケース（クラリネット用）についに繁殖しました。大量のカビが…。
中身は別のケースに入っているので無事ですが、来てからずっと置きっぱなしだったソフトケースがやられました。
クローゼットは開けっ放し、窓をあけて午前中は換気、夜通しエアコン点けっぱなし、で結構空気は循環している気がしていましたが…湿気対策はできていませんでした。というより、湿気大国シンガポールでは無力でした。
なにか対策しなければ同じことが起こってしまう、と思い調べてみることに。
A few days ago, my clarinet case was covered with mold. Fortunately, the musical instrument body was safe because it was in another case. But the moldy case was also important, so I was sad. The reason was that I’ve left it in the same place since I came to Singapore. I always let the closet open, open the window in the morning, and turn on the air conditioner all night. So I thought the air circulation was OK. However, it didn’t work in Singapore, the most humid country. So I had to do something to protect my properties from mold.
・エアコンを23℃くらいで点けっぱなしにする
・除湿機を設置
I found the tips;
・Setting an air conditioner to 23 degrees.
・Setting a dehumidifier.
の2つがよくある対策のようです。23℃は寒すぎるし、電気代もすごくかかりそう…ということで、除湿機を試しに買ってみることになりました。
シンガポール版AmazonのようなオンラインショップのLazadaで購入。
評価も良く値段も手頃なこちらを選びました。
I thought 23 degrees was too cold, and it cost high. So I tried to use a dehumidifier.
I bought it on Lazada, like Amazon. Its reviews were good, and it wasn’t expensive.

日中点けていたところ、5時間ほどで満タンに。湿度70％以上からスタートし、50％近くまで下がりました。湿度50％の部屋に入ると、明らかにカラッとしていて涼しく感じるほどです。こんなに湿気があったのかと驚愕でした。
I left it on during the day, then the water tank was full. It was over 70 % humidity in the beginning, but after five hours, it became around 50 % humidity. When I enter the room with 50 % humidity, I feel cool and dry. I was surprised that this room was so humid before.
まだ数日しか使用していませんが、除湿機は必須アイテムになりそうです。
The dehumidifier will be an essential item, though I’ve only used it for a few days.
