チョンバルベーカリーで大満足ランチ＠チョンバル I was satisfied with lunch at Tiong Bahru Bakery

シンガポールに住んでいる日本人なら一度は聞いたことがあるであろう「チョンバルベーカリー」。

数店舗あるようですが、本店のチョンバルへ行ってきました。

チョンバル周辺は、日本人からも人気があるというエリアという認識でしたが、予想以上にローカル味を感じられる場所でした。実際、HDB（シンガポール人向けの団地）もたくさん立ち並んでいます。

そんなチョンバル駅から歩くこと10分、チョンバルマーケットのすぐ近くにあるパン屋さん兼カフェがチョンバルベーカリーです。

中はパン屋さんというよりはカフェがメイン。ショーウィンドウに美味しそうなパンやケーキが並んでいました。

今回はサーモン＆ほうれん草のキッシュとサラダのセット（SGD13.5）、クロワッサン（SGD3.5）、カフェラテ（SGD5.2）をオーダー。

クロワッサンはチョンバルベーカリーの名物と聞いていたので、頼まないわけにはいきませんでした。

実際食べてみると、クロワッサンは皮がパリパリでとても美味しかったです。テイクアウトしているお客さんも多々いたのですが、食感を十分味わいたいなら、その場で食べるのがおすすめです。

キッシュはごろごろとしたサーモンと濃厚な味付けで、ボリューム満点でした。

他のパンやケーキもまた食べてみたいですし、ドリンクの種類が豊富だったので、次回チャレンジしてみたいと思います。

I guess all Japanese people in Singapore have heard ‘Tiong Bahru Bakery.’ The bakery has several outlets, and I went to Tiong Bahru this time.

I thought the Tiong Bahru area was popular with the Japanese, but I felt the local atmosphere. Actually, there are lots of HDBs (Housing & Development Board) for local Singaporeans. I could walk to the bakery & cafe in 10 minutes. And it is located nearby Tiong Bahru Market.

It has a café, and there is a variety of bread and cakes, which look delicious. This time, I ordered Salmon & Spinach Quiche with Salad (SGD13.5), Croissant (SGD3.5), and café latte (SGD5.2). I’ve heard the croissant is the most popular at the Tiong Bahru Bakery, so I had no choice to order it.

The croissant was flaky and tasty. Some customers took it away, but I recommend eating it at the café if you enjoy its texture.

There are plenty of choices, so I want to eat other bread, cakes, and drink next time.

コロナ規制は続く… The measures for COVID-19 will continue

先月、シンガポールのコロナ感染者が増えてきたことから、「団体行動、外食2名まで」、「在宅勤務デフォルト（出勤する際は週1回のART（抗原）検査で陰性確認してから）」などといった厳しい規制が発表されていました。

もうすぐ規制が解除されるはずと思って我慢してきましたが、まだコロナの波が収まらないことから、さらに1ヶ月規制延長…。

最近のコロナ感染者は3000人以上/日。仕方のないことだとは分かっていながらも、もうコロナに過剰に反応しなくてもいいのではと思ってしまいます。政府の慎重すぎる対応にも、正直少し疲れてきている感じです。

当然のようにこの期間、吹奏楽団の練習も、合奏から個人練習へ移行。この1ヶ月は諦めて自宅で練習をしていました。

練習再開を楽しみにしていたのに、また一人で練習する日々が続くのかと思うと気持ちが沈んでしまいます。

また、日本への一時帰国もしばらくできそうにないのが残念です。いまのところ、日本到着後14日間の隔離（自主隔離だけど現実はホテル）、シンガポールへ帰国後7日間の隔離（自宅）が必要。また、シンガポール入国許可が取れるのかどうか。

いろいろとハードルが高すぎて…ほんとに早く緩和されることを願っています。

The government decided the measures for COVID-19 would be strict last month.
  Up to 2 persons per group to eat together are allowed, and also, only 2 persons per group for social gatherings are allowed. 
  Work from home as the default. And a worker can go to an office after taking an Antigen Rapid Test (ART).

I thought the measures would be relaxed soon, but the COVID-19 situation has been bad.
So the measures will continue for one month. The COVID-19 cases have been more than 3000/day the past few days. I understand the decision would be needed, but honestly, I’m sick and tired of this virus.

Of course, the wind ensemble has canceled, so I had no choice but to play the clarinet alone at home. I hoped to restart the ensemble. I’m disappointed I have to do it alone for a long time.

And also, I’m depressed that I can’t go back to Japan temporarily. If I return to Japan for a short time, it will take 14 days (the quarantine at a hotel in Japan) and 7 days (home quarantine in Singapore). And I have another problem whether I can enter Singapore again. It’s complicated to do, so I hope the COVID-19 will be over.

シンガポールで日本のドラマを見る（VPN接続⇒TVer） I’m watching Japanese dramas in Singapore (with VPN and TVer app)

日本のドラマが大好きだったわたしにとって、ドラマが見れないのはかなり辛いことでした。

シンガポールに来てから1ヶ月ほどは、接続の仕方などがわからずやっていなかったのですが、VPNを契約することで無事日本のテレビを見れるようになりました。

やり方としては、「VPNを契約・接続した状態でTVerアプリから見る」。やってみたら簡単なのですが、実際行動に移すまでは不安でした。

実際にはセキュリティの関係など、自己責任とはなります。また、何を見たいか、何のアプリを使うかによって、うまく作動するかがあるので、そこはよく調べてほしいと思います。

いま使っているのは「NordVPN」です。月1000円ほど。

日本のドラマを無料で見るのに最適なTVerは、かなり良いのですが、日本にいる環境でなければ使うことはできません。どこからそのアプリにアクセスしているかを判断しているからです。

そこで、NordVPNを使うと（たまに回線が遅くなりますが）問題なく見ることができます。

前期ではTOKYO MER〜走る緊急救命室〜がおもしろかったです。今期は当たりドラマがあるのかどうか…これから引き続きVPN⇒TVerで楽しみたいと思います。

（2021年8月頃まではこれで日本版Netflixを見れたのですが、厳しくなってVPNありではみれなくなりました。

知らない人が多いですが、Netflixは国によって配信している動画が違います。海外版Netflixではジブリが見れます。）

I love watching Japanese dramas, but I couldn’t watch them in Singapore for few months because I didn’t know how to use VPN. Fortunately, I finally could watch Japanese TV shows after setting up a VPN.

What I did was only watch them with VPN and TVer app. I felt uneasy before doing it, but actually, it was easy to do. Of course, it has problems with security and so on, so you can do that at your own risk. And there are several VPNs, and it depends on what you want to watch and which app you use. So you should search in detail.

I’m using ‘NordVPN.’ It costs 1000 yen for one month. TVer is a really good app to watch Japanese doramas for free. But it doesn’t work overseas. So I have to use VPN, for me, NordVPN. When I use it (sometimes unstable Internet connection), I can watch doramas without problems. I was excited to watch TOKYO MER last month. I wonder if there are good dramas at this term or not. I’ll keep watching doramas with VPN and TVer app.

ポータブルバスタブ、破損 My portable bathtub was broken

2ヶ月ほど前、ポータブルバスタブを購入しました。

機嫌よく週1程度使っていましたが、気づいたら穴があいてしまっていました。数千円のものなので、強度は期待していませんでしたが…。

とはいえ、漏れているのは少しなので、補強して使っています。残念ながら、テープでは穴は完全にはふさがりませんでした。

ちなみに、排水が不便で困っていましたが、ダイソーで購入したつながるマット×4を敷いたところ、解消されました。さらに下にマットを敷くことで、床の冷たさでお湯が冷えていくのも緩和されたと思います。

はやく日本で温泉旅行に行けることを夢見て、「日本の名湯」とともにお風呂時間を楽しんでいます。

Two months ago, I bought a portable bathtub instead of a real bathtub. I use it every week, and I like it. But when I noticed it, there was a small hole. Though I didn’t expect its quality, because of its price. The hole was small, so I didn’t care too much. I’m using it with taping it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t be completely blocked.

By the way, the problem with the drainage was solved. I bought the mats (4 pieces) at Daiso, and I put them under the bathtub. And hot water didn't get cold.

I enjoy the bath time with Nihon-no-Meiyu now, and I hope to go to the hot spring in Japan soon.

多重録音について③ となりのトトロ（クラリネット6重奏）YouTube動画アップしました About Multiple recordings vol3 New videos were uploaded on YouTube (My Neighbor Totoro)

YouTubeに演奏動画をアップしました。

今回はとなりのトトロメドレー、クラリネット6重奏（E♭、B♭1、B♭2、B♭3、Alto、Bass）です。さんぽ、五月の村、風のとおり道、ねこバス、となりのトトロのメドレーになっています。

また、特殊楽器は残念ながら持っていないので、AltoとBassはエアロフォン（電子サックス）で代用しました。E♭クラリネットは移調して演奏しています。

6パートいるおかげで、いろんな動きがあって楽しいのと、編曲が福田洋介さんなので、安定の素晴らしさです。帰国したらやりたい曲のひとつになりました。

A few days ago, I uploaded a video. It was about my ensemble performance, My Neighbor Totoro medley (Clarinet Sextet). The instrumentation is E♭, B♭1, B♭2, B♭3, Alto, Bass Clarinet. Unfortunately, I don’t have an alto clarinet and a bass clarinet, so I played these parts by Aerophone (digital saxophone) instead.

Because it has six parts, there are various phrases, and it’s fun. The arranger is Fukuda Yosuke, so the piece is great. It becomes one of the pieces I want to play with my friend after going back to Japan.

マウントフェーバーからセントーサ島 ～ケーブルカーの旅～ The journey by Cable Car from Mount Faber to Sentosa

マウントフェーバーで第三のマーライオンに出会う I met the third statue of Merlion at Mount Faber - 1000日後にバケモノになるふねさん　の後、セントーサ島まで出ているケーブルカーに乗ってみました。

こちら一日乗車券で、DBS銀行のカードを提示することで割引となり、ひとり＄21でした。

ケーブルカーには「マウントフェーバーライン」と「セントーサライン」があり、このチケットですべてのラインに乗り放題です。

雰囲気はスキー場のケーブルカーみたいな感じ。一部風が通るように隙間があり、涼しかったです。

外から見ているときはそこまで感じなかったのですが、いざ乗ってみるとその高さに驚きました。セントーサ島に渡るとき海の上を通るときなんかは少し怖く感じます。

また、セントーサ島のビーチやアドベンチャーコーブウォーターパークを上から見ることは普段できないので楽しかったです。

景色も楽しめてゆっくりできるので、一度も乗ったことのない人はおすすめしたいです。

I tried riding the cable car from Mount Faber to Sentosa after seeing Merlion. The fee of a one-day passport was $21 with DBS bank card. And I could ride Mount Faber Line and Sentosa Line.

The cable car was similar to a cable car in a skiing resort. It has a window for taking in air, so it was comfortable. I didn’t think it was high until riding it, but I was surprised by its height. I felt a little bit scared when I was over the sea. I was excited I could see the view of the beach and Adventure Cove Waterpark because I usually couldn’t see them from above.

I’d recommend the cable car if you’ve never ridden it. You can relax and enjoy the view.

シンガポールには6つの公式マーライオンがいるとされています。

1. みなさんおなじみのマーライオン公園のマーライオン、
2. すぐそばにいるミニマーライオン、
3. マウントフェーバー（ハーバーフロント駅近くの山）の高台にいるマーライオン、
4. シンガポール政府観光局（オーチャード西）のマーライオン、
5. 6.　アンモキオのマーライオン（2体）

ちなみに2019年にセントーサ島の巨大マーライオンは解体されました。以前旅行に来たとき、近くまでは来たものの登ることはしなかったので、絶対次は登ろうと思っていたのに…。

1，2は容易にクリアできますが、それ以外のマーライオンを見るのはなかなか大変です。

今回はマウントフェーバーのマーライオンを目指して歩きました。

ここに来たのはなんと2度目。6月に頑張って高台近くまで歩いたときには、工事中でちょうどマーライオンがいるエリアが封鎖されていました。

工事が終わったであろう10月まで待ち、満を持しての挑戦。体力がなさすぎて目的地につくまでに倒れそうでしたが（普通の人には軽いハイキングコース）、なんとかたどり着きました。

マーライオン公園のマーライオンよりも、お目々がぱっちりして可愛い感じがします。

続きにセントーサ島まで続くケーブルカーにも乗ってみたので、次の記事で書きたいと思います。

There are six official statues of Merlion in Singapore.
1. The most popular Merlion at the Merlion Park
2. Small Merlion near the popular one
3. Merlion at Mount Faber (near the Harbour Front station)
4. Merlion at Singapore Tourism Board (west of Orchard)
5, 6. Two Merlions at Ang Mo Kio

Unfortunately, the huge Merlion at Sentosa was dismantled in 2019. When I traveled a few years ago, I couldn’t go to the top of the Merlion, only saw it near there. I wanted to go inside the Merlion, but I couldn’t forever.

It was easy to visit the first and second Merlion because the location was popular for sightseeing. But it’s hard to visit another Merlions. At this time, I went to Merlion at Mount Faber. Honestly, it was the second time. When I went there in June, they were doing construction all around the area of Merlion. And sadly, it had been locked down. I waited until October, and I finally tried visiting again. It was really hard for me to walk to the destination because of my lack of energy. I guess it is a normal hiking trail , though.

I also tried the Cable Car to Sentosa, so I’ll post about it next time.
