シンガポールのIONオーチャードという巨大モールの中に、一度行ってみたかったカフェがありました。
それはBACHA COFFEE。
モロッコ発のお店らしく、店内はなんともきらびやかな雰囲気です。
I’ve wanted to go to the café at ION Orchard, which is a huge moll in Singapore. It is BACHA COFFEE. The café’s origin is Morocco. And its atmosphere is really gorgeous.
IONオーチャードではカフェが併設されていて、モロッコ料理やクロワッサン、デザートをコーヒーと共に楽しむことができます。
It has a café function, and you can enjoy Moroccan food and desserts like croissants with tasty coffee.
いつも並んでいて入れない、との噂を聞いていたので、平日にチャレンジしてみました。
金曜日の14時前。カフェは混み始める時間ではありますが果たして…。
お店の前には8組程度の列。思ったよりは並んでおらず、待つこと数十分。席数が少なく、食事→デザートの流れが多いのか、全く席が空く気配はありませんでした…。
結果、50分ほど待ってようやく入店。後半の20分くらいはメニューを渡されたので、何を注文するかじっくり考えていました。
…が、コーヒーの種類が多すぎて、全く決めることができず。そもそも原産国のこだわりはなく、種類にも詳しくなかったので、どう決めたらいいのかわからなかったのです。ちなみにメニューには、国別・朝/昼におすすめ・フレーバーといった項目に分かれており、それぞれ数十種類のコーヒーがありました。
悩みに悩んだ末、決め手に欠けて、最後は何となくでコンゴのBantu Secret Coffeeを選択しました（ピンクのラインのもの）。いくつか候補があった中で、酸味が控えめでマイルドなものを店員さんに教えてもらいました。
I heard it’s always crowded, so I tried to go with my friend on weekdays. It was on Friday at 2 p.m. I wondered it’s crowded because of café time. There were about 8 pairs for waiting. It was less than I thought, but the waiting time was so long. Because there weren’t many tables inside and people who had lunch had desserts. In the end, we waited for 50 minutes. We were thinking of the order by looking at the menu for 20 minutes.
Unfortunately, it was too difficult for us to decide because there were many kinds of coffee. Also, we didn’t have a thing about the country of origin and didn’t familiar with types of coffee. So we didn’t know how to decide. The café had several categories of coffee; countries, blended coffee for the morning, afternoon, and flavor coffee. And they had several dozens of coffees of each type.
After thinking about it for a long time, we couldn’t decide for ourselves. The waiter told us which coffee has less acidity and a mild taste. Finally, we ordered Bantu Secret Coffee from Congo.
今回は食事なし、食べてみたかったクロワッサンとティラミス、コーヒーのポットをそれぞれ1つずつ頼み、2人でシェアすることにしました。
コーヒーはだいたい9＄～。めずらしいことに、コーヒーは紅茶のようにポットで提供されます。1人で飲むなら小さめのカップに、3杯分くらいでしょうか。とてもお得だと思いました。
バタークロワッサンは、生地に染み出てあふれるくらいのバター感が味わえます。さらに、キャラメルコーヒーをディップして味変も可能。
ティラミスは濃厚で、普通のとは一味違う、香辛料のようなものも感じました。
コーヒーはホイップクリームと一緒に。また、各テーブルに砂糖とバニラビーンズグラインダーが置いてあり、お好みで入れることもできます。今回選んだBantu Secret Coffeeは爽やかなフルーティーさがあり、酸味は感じられませんでした。どちらかというとアメリカンのように薄味で、飲みやすかったです。
At this time, we ordered only dessert and coffee. The orders were butter croissants, a tiramisu, and a pot of coffee, and we shared. Each coffee was from 9$. The café serves a pot of coffee, like tea, and I think it’s unusual. When you order a pot of coffee, not sharing it with someone, you can enjoy three cups of coffee. It’s reasonable.
I tasted the butter of the croissant by dipping the caramel coffee cream. The tiramisu was tasted deep, and it has something like spices in it. I could drink coffee with whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla beans. The coffee we chose was fresh and fruity, and I didn’t feel acidity. I think it was smooth and light taste like American.
また機会があればぜひ行きたいと思います。
