世間的には多くの人が趣味としている、スポーツ観戦。
ところが夫婦揃ってスポーツに興味がなく、これまでスポーツ観戦をするという発想がありませんでした。野球にしてもサッカーにしても、特に好きなチームもなく、ニュースで見ても「ふ～ん」くらいの感想しか持ったことがありません。
ですが今回、友達が行けなくなって余ったチケットをもらったので、とりあえず行ってみることに。
場所はビシャンスタジアム、ビシャン駅から徒歩10分ほど。このあたりは普段訪れることがなく、駅にも初めて降り立ちました。
もらったチケットはAFF SUZUKI CUP2020という、東南アジアサッカー選手権だそうです。
入り口付近から、やたら赤い服の人見かけるな～と思っていたら、全員ベトナム応援勢でした。
見渡す限り赤一色。インドネシアが不憫になるほどです。
そういうわたしたちも、あまりに周りがベトナムをみんな応援していたので、倣ってベトナムを応援することに。
肝心の試合内容はというと…サッカーには詳しくありませんが、とにかくベトナムが攻めまくっている、という感じ。
思ったよりもコートに近い席だったので、ボールの動きがよく見えたのには感動しました。
ただ、開始30分くらいで気付きました。わたしたち2人とも、スポーツ観戦は向いてないな、と…。
熱狂的に応援する周りの歓声を聞きながら、ボールが行ったり来たりするのをひたすら眺めていました。
試合時間2時間のうち、1時間半以上粘って、結局離脱。
本当はどっちかが1点を取ったら帰ろうと、暗黙の了解で思っていましたが、あまりに点が入らないので、途中で諦めました。
わざわざ試合を見に来て、最後まで見ずに帰る観客は、そう多くはないと思います…。
とはいえ新しいことを経験した、という意味で貴重な1日でした。
チケットをくれた友達には感謝です。

My husband and I don’t have any interest in sports. And we’ve never watched any sports. Unfortunately, We don’t have any favorite team of baseball and football. But my friends gave us the football tickets, so we just tried to go for now.
The match was held at the Bishan Stadium, takes 10 minutes on foot from the Bishan station. It was the first time to gotten off at this station.
The ticket was for AFF SUZUKI CUP 2020, the Southeast Asian Football Championship. And we watched the match Vietnam VS Indonesia. I thought everyone wore red clothes. But surprisingly, all of them were fans of Vietnam. It was red as far as the eye could see. I was sorry about Indonesia. But we supported Vietnam, as other spectators did.
I didn’t know the football rule well, but I felt Vietnam attacked all the time. The seat was closer to the court than I expected, so I could see the moving of the ball well.
We noticed something about 30 minutes after the start. Neither of us was suitable for watching sports. While listening to the cheers of the people around us who cheered crazy, we just watched the balls come and go. The all-time match was 2 hours, but we couldn't stay at the end of it. We wanted to go home after Vietnam or Indonesia got one point. But they two didn’t get any points, so we gave up watching it. Spectators usually don’t go home before the end of the match. I know that's not usual.
However, trying to think positively, I had a good new experience.
